Farmers’ Foot March to Delhi

Haryana Police sealed the Khanauri–Data Singhwala inter-state border point on August 16, 2026, after farmers associated with the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) began their proposed 228-km “Kisan Bachao Padyatra” towards Delhi.

The border was secured with multi-layered barricades, containers and barbed wire to prevent the farmers from proceeding into Haryana. The march was planned to raise concerns over the proposed India-US trade deal and demand a legal guarantee for Minimum Support Price (MSP).
