Next-Generation Antivenom for Cobra & King Cobra | IISc–DTU Research | Current Affairs 2026

Researchers from IISc and DTU have developed a recombinant, nanobody-based antivenom designed to provide broad protection against venom from geographically diverse cobra and king cobra species in India. The research used a cocktail of five engineered antibody fragments called nanobodies, which showed venom-neutralising activity in laboratory studies and protected mice against tested cobra and king cobra venoms.
